Speed issues with PACE 5268AC DMZ+ mode

I've had my RG, PACE 5268AC, configured with DMZ+ enable on my Ubiquiti Edgerouter for a long time now and had no speed issues.  Recently I've discovered my download and upload speeds are greatly reduced now.  Before I would get near perfect 900mbps symmetrical speeds now my download is capping at ~40mbps and upload at ~100mbps.  When I disable DMZ+ for the Edgerouter my speeds return to near normal 900mbps.  If I directly connect a computer to the RG and configure that computer for DMZ+ the speeds for that computer are identical to what I'm seeing with Edgerouter.  That being 40mbps/100mbps download/upload if configured for DMZ+ and 900mbps symmetrical.  Is the RG going bad or has a firmware been pushed out to the PACE 5268AC that broke DMZ+.

I guess should I ask for a non-PACE RG or is there a solution to restore DMZ+ back to it's original functionality?

@ATTDmitriyCM, I've seen this same observation over and over.  Can we get some feed back from engineering as to why this is occurring and/or whether this is something we need to alter on the third party router or if this is an issue in the firmware that can be corrected.  Or at the very least make sure engineering is aware?

I have the same issue.. removing from DMZPlus for short term fix but double NAT is not good because I use the google wifi mesh behind the router.

I sent the information to our partners and we'll get it over to the right people to review. In the meantime I'm going to open a case for you and have someone look into your specific issue. They might need to contact you directly, and if they do one of our specialists will reach out via a private message.

Thank you,

I’m having the exact same issue with my Pace 5268 since the firmware was updated to 11.1.0.531418 about 2 weeks ago.  I just had an ATT tech to my house to swap the RG for a new one of the same model, but with older firmware and full speeds on DMZ+ was instantly restored.  Now I’m afraid the newer bad firmware will be pushed again and I’ll be back to the throttled speeds.

I should throw out a "me too." Dmzplus is suddenly 50Mbps down and anywhere from 90Mbps to 190Mbps up, vs anything not dmzplus is 700Mbps down and 980Mbps up.

Any updates on this? I don't want to hassle with equipment replacement out of the same concerns as voiced by @Firmware

I had my issue resolved by having the RG replaced and when AT&T was arranging the replacement I asked specifically to have the Arris NVG-599 sent instead of the PACE 5268AC.  Once I replaced the RG and used the Arris's ip passthrough it worked like a charm.  I know one person got a PACE replacement with the older firmware but I would also worry that the bad firmware would eventually get pushed back to the 5268AC.

I was battling this Pace V11 firmware screw up since 11/29 when I first noticed the 50Mbps throttle. This thread has quite a bit of info: "PACE 11.1.0.531418 DMZ Issue". That said, it seems that AT&T is VERY slow to react, their field techs don't seem to know about it or have only just heard "something" about it. If you speak with phone support and tell them about the Ver 11 mess, you get asked if you did a hard reboot. If you order a replacement with a PROMISE not to ship a PACE RG; 99.9999% probability you will still get a PACE! That happened to me. (If you install a PACE with the old v10.7 it will just update to V11 again) I eventually had a Tech scheduled and when he called prior to arriving, he only had PACE RG's in his truck. A check of all the Techs in is group was the same, they all had PACE RG's. He managed to find a Manager with a BGW210 and he graciously met and took possession of said RG. So on 12/15, after the BGW210 installation, my speeds are back to what I am paying for, 1Gig. It seems the only way to get a non PACE RG is by a visit from a Tech. I will be requesting a refund for degraded service.

I sure hope I have good results with the Pace I'm getting. I currently have BGW210, which was installed when I first upgraded to fiber 100 in Nov 2018. I upgraded to fiber 1000 yesterday and the BGW210 for some reason doesn't speed test in the 900s, only 200s online. But diagnostic speed test on actual modem shows correctly. Sigh...hoping for good results. I don't understand why some people can get the speeds they're supposed to with the exact same modem but I'm not.

Waiting for Pace 5268AC.

Me too

I've called twice now to have my PACE RG replaced. Same as above, over and over they promise to NOT send the PACE. Twice now I received the PACE.
You can do NOTHING about this. My guess is this has nothing to do with the phone reps but the warehouse sending them out. Don't take your anger out on them.
When I asked for a technician to come out they said it would cost me $99. Really?

I guess I could just keep calling every few days to have another modem sent out until I get the right one. Only problem is I have to keep dropping them off at UPS to send back. Maybe I can work something out with the driver when he drops off the new box I give him the last box he dropped off.

This is such a PITButt I might just switch back to Spectrum. Same speeds, same price and a local office I can pick up equipment when it needs to be replaced.

I'm also amazed at how this posting system checks for profanity in my post before allowing me to post. Seems they have that part down, now maybe fix the stuff causing us to use profanity.

That $99.00 thing is a standard reply to a Tech request. They have to say it. Do not worry, they KNOW now they have a full blown problem. Put in a request for a Tech, make sure to have them note on the ticket the Tech MUST call before coming then when he does ask if he has ANYTHING other than a PACE. If he does not, ask if he could check his group for a BGW210 or NVG299 (I prefer the BGW210) and if he would mind picking it up. My Tech did that and so have others. Go to the following thread and read a few pages, please. So far, almost everyone has had success with a Tech bringing a BGW210 or NVG299.  Since you are having problems with the PACE in DMZ+ you probably have your own router and are NOT using the RG in standalone mode. Having said that, I will caution you, the BGW210 with current FW v.1.7.17 is having reboot issues when used in the Default Standalone mode with WiFi on. However, it works perfectly fine in Passthrough Configuration with WiFi Off! (I have mine so configured). Here's the forum I mentioned (also IGNORE the "Solved" title, it is not) One more thing, if the Tech is a noob, show him the forum: https://forums.att.com/t5/AT-T-Fiber-Equipment/PACE-11-1-0-531418-DMZ-Issue/m-p/5764334#M8314

Good Luck.
