Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

After downloading and installing the latest version of GNC, the application will open then force close.  It opens and I see "Initializing, please wait.." and then it shuts down.

Below is the log file entry

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

Can you please send us the full support logs.

Right click on Start and open Windows Explorer.
Go to  Computer -> System (C): -> Program Files -> AT&T Global Network Client -> NetHelp.exe

Open NetHelp.exe and click on Upload logs.

Thank you.

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

Hello,

We have tested this version and are not able to recreate the issue.   It does appear that something is preventing the client from installing properly    Please make sure you have administrative rights. uninstall the AT&T Global Network Client,  reboot,  disable your security software , install the AT&T Global Network Client, reboot and test the connection again.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue.

Thank you.

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

Morning,

I installed the program on another computer that is only running Avira anti virus and I am seeing the same error message.

This was done with the latest version of GNC on a fully patched 64-bit version Windows 10.

Is their maybe a bug with this version of GNC?  Is their an option to download an older version to test with?

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

Can you check to see if there is an install log you can send us?

Go to start and run
-----From command line type %temp%
-----Then look for file agnc_vpn.log

Here is a link to Version 9.8.1 to test.

ftp://ftp.attglobal.net/pub/client/win32/9.8.1/

Thank you.

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

Morning,

The file upload function is not working for me on the site.  I am getting an "Unexpected Error has occurred message"

Regardless, I was able to download and install the previous version, and run it successfully.

From what I can tell, their seems to be a bug on the latest version of GNC, possibly only affecting x64 version of Windows.  My non-programmer guess is maybe the SQLite DLL was not compiled correctly.

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

Hello,   When you have time can you please try installing “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017” and see if it solves the problem with Version 9.9?

https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/

Thank you.

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

Got the same issue....nothing that I try works out. Appears as that AGNC 9.9.0 is incompatible with Win 10. Any estimate on when a Win 10 capable version is available? Is there any other application that can be used to connect to an AT&T service?

Log file below and yes, it looks like there is a problem with the SQLite dll. That should be very easy to correct. Found this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13028069/unable-to-load-dll-sqlite-interop-dll
There appears to be also a newer version of the dll available (103 vs 88)

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

Installing Visual Studio using default options (you provided no additional guidance on which options, of the plethora that are available, to install), did not resolve the problem with 9.9.0.

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

I have this same exact problem. I installed AGNC 9.9.0 on Windows 10 Pro running in parallels on a Mac. It seems to install OK, but when invoked The AGNC window shows briefly and disappears. Back leveling to 9.8.1 solved the problem (for now). I think newer versions of AGNC have a bug that needs to be looked at by AT&T ...

Hardware: Apple Mac Mini. OSX Mojave, Parallels V14, Windows 10 Professional

Latest patches, OS levels, etc applied to all systems.

Note: Changed network adapter type in the Parallels VM settings to "Default adapter".

Re: Windows 10 cannot launch Global Network Client version 9.9.0

Hello,

This issue should be resolved in Version 9.9.1.   Waiting on ETA.     In the meantime, please install

2010 MVC++ redistributable  and see if that resolves the issue.

Thank you.
