I have a similar problem except the client NEVER successfully starts. This seems to be triggered after certain Microsoft updates. The most recent appears to be involved with installing IE9. I find that both the network client and Skype fail to start...Skype takes a little longer though as if it's error is during contact list processing. In any case, when I look at the windows event log, I see complaints for both programs about the icm32.dll.

I have found some information that indicates this is related to the vbscript engine. I've followed instructions to register the engine, but even after rebooting, there is no change.
This was with the latest version of both programs installed.

Well, almost 6 months later and not updates, responses NOTHING. I manually insalled IE9 last week and voila, the exact same error still occurs. I had to fall back to the pre-IE9 restore point to get a functioning dialer back.
I wish my company would swtich off of AT&T at this point. This is just ridiculous.
I'd say thanks, but what's the point...I'm only talking to myself.

I am on version 220.127.116.1106 and I get this same error. Sometimes I get to the banner but as soon as I hit enter I get the same Netclient has stopped error. I checked for updates and reloaded the Access POint Network. I still get the Netclient error after I click continue on the banner.
