unable to update microcell user list due to system maintenance
I have been trying to add an another AT&T wireless number to my micorcell user list for the last 5 days and I get the message: [Free Text] Unable to update MicroCell User List due to system maintenance. Please try again later.
Is this really true that it takes so long to do maintenance or is there another problem. I am connected to the microcell with my wireless but can't add another number. Please help.

Hi Kevin, I have only tried to update my user list via text message. I live in a rural area and the microcell has worked great for several years and this is the first glitch. I first added a user about two months ago and now can't remove it. I have luck finding the manage settins page you referenced and still receive the same reply when trying to update the user list today.

OttoPylot,
Trying to Add/Remove via text to 6235 as per provided support document. I can't create an account for the app or access my account as my phone is provided by my employer so text had worked great.
Good point though the phone I want to remove is not in range. I tried to add my personal phone via text after your message and received "unable to update MicroCell User List: wireless number is ineligible to be added". My personal phone is a different carrier but didn't think it mattered? Have tried multiple formats with/without dashes etc with no success.

The MicroCell is designed to work only on the AT&T network with AT&T cellular accounts. It will not work with other carriers for obvious reasons.
If the AT&T account is a business account that was used to register and activate the MicroCell you may not be allowed to add a phone number to the Approved Users List because it's not your account.

It's not necessarily the MicroCell but your account, or the account page, that is the problem. The MicroCell just passes data, it doesn't make any "decisions" itself. Can you explaing in a little more detail your setup, the phones you are trying to add, etc.
If AT&T determines that the MicroCel is defective, they MAY replace it for free but that is not corporate policy per se. Free replacements are done on a case by case basis. At the very least you may be able to get one at a nice discount.

Hi @Mr.qman!
All Microcells come with a 1 year guaranteed warranty. If your device begins to malfunction within this period, we can definitely have it replaced!
Thanks for reaching out!

@ATTMobilityCare - Tim - replacing the MicroCell without knowing what the problem is will not help the customer. If AT&T has determined that the MicroCell has failed mechanically that's fine. But if it's any number of other issues you need to look deeper into what the cause may be. Your answer is why I created the Tech Guide.
