Connecting Microcell to ATT NVG510 Router
A while back I switched from broadband to u-verse and have had problems with my microcell ever since. When I connect the microcell to the router, it drops my internet connection and the service light on my router turns red. At that point neither the router or microcell are working. I've replaced my router 3 times now and microcell 2 times. Any ideas? Is there a known issue here? I've been happy overall with ATT but may need to switch because my wireless service at home is horrible without the microcell.

There have been some issues witht the NVG510 routers and the MicroCell. You might want to check the Tech Guide (link in my sig) for some ideas on troubleshooting. I'll check in later when I'm not so pressed for time. Avedis, you there?

If AT&T hadn't switched to this crappy Lithium forum format, I'd be able to go back and reference the older posts regarding the NVG510. I do recall some problems with that router interfacing with the Mcell but I don't remember seeing that plugging in the Mcell to the router caused the problems the OP stated.
I'm assuming when you replaced your router that each time it was with another NVG510. I don't know if AT&T has a different U-verse router you could try but you might ask them.
Sorry I can't come up with something else to try. Cable modem routers are simplier to troubleshoot then those dang DSL gateways.

As an FYI, Lithium has always been the developer for the AT&T forums. For some yet unexplained reason, they convinced AT&T to go to the more "social network" formatting which sucks big time in my estimation.

I know Lithium is a constant. That's why I referenced their format as being crappy. I can't tell which posts are current, I can't get back to the Mcell forum without going back to the beginning and coming back in. It is not intuitive or user friendly. Whoever decided this was an improvement over the old forums is simply making a change for change's sake and perhaps trying to justify their job. What a pity.

Agree 100%. And so do most, if not all, of the ACEs (and privately some of the Admins as well). There are ways to see the most recent posts but I think it is limited to the ACEs, etc. A tad bit easier but nothing like what it used to be. We are pressuring the Admins but I think the ultimate decisions are coming from further up the food chain.
