Received message "Unable to uninstall existing management agent host process"

When attempting to install AT&T plug-in for Wi-Fi access, I received the message "Unable to uninstall existing management agent host process"  I have one computer and no one else uses it, and I have never installed a host process before.  Could anyone give me some insight?  Thank you so very much!

Are you talking about a device you're trying to plug into your computer to get wireless, or some software AT&T said you needed?

Re: Received message "Unable to uninstall existing management agent host process"

Installing the plug-in is AT&T's first step in setting up home Wi-Fi.   There is obviously an existing management agent host process on my computer.  Does this mean my WiFi has been hacked?

OK, are you talking about a installing a physical piece of hardware or device (like a wireless network adapter), or just some software your installing.

Your computer has multiple "host processes" running during normal use and does not necessarily mean it has been hacked. More than likely there is already some program on your computer that the software you're trying to install needs to disable or uninstall before it can proceed with the installation.

If your computer already had a wireless network adapter, you should not need any software from AT&T, it should just work.

What operating system are you running on your computer?

No, I'm only trying to install the AT&T plug-in, and I don't already have a wireless network adapter installed.  Any ideas?

Re: Received message "Unable to uninstall existing management agent host process"

Basically, if I can't get past this...I will be unable to get wireless internet.   I'm not trying to install a physical piece of hardware....it's AT&T software that won't download.

Well, if you do not have a wireless network adapter, the software will do you no good. You can't have wireless without a wireless network adapter.

You do not have to install any software from AT&T to use the Internet, wireless or not.
