Hi latency while trying to play World of Warcraft

Hi latency while trying to play World of Warcraft

I have been having inconsistent latencies ranging from 84MS (Which is Normal for me) to upwards of 1200MS, usually settling between 200-600MS, but fluctuating so bad, that raiding and regular questing is becoming problematic. The time that this has happened was approximately between 6PM and 12AM Eastern Standard time for over the past week. I have had no issues with Latency in the past and this has me concerned.I am in Eastern Pennsylvania and my ISP is Penn Tele Data. I have submitted a ticket with them and was informed the issue is not in thier network, but with ATT to whom which they peer.

I have nurmerous correspondence with Blizzard and they said the following:

Greetings,Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have investigated your situation and here is what we came up with. Unfortunately since the massive packet loss occurs before hitting our servers, on top of the fact that we are not experiencing any server level maintenance issues on our end, You will have to demand resolution with your ISP and there is functionally nothing we can do from our end to help support the issue as the problem does not lie with us. I am sorry for any trouble or confusion this may have caused.

According to my ISP, the problem appears to be "the Router is either overloaded or blocking ICMP packets at with ATT.  Since the trace left and is out of PennTeleData's network they referred me back to you to have your contacts at ATT look into.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Hi latency while trying to play World of Warcraft

Here is my info as well.  World of Warcraft has also told me that it is an AT&T issue.  I use Time Warner Cable for my internet, and my trace route is listed below.  The numbers all jump once they hit AT&T servers.  Please help us fix this!!!

* What realm do you play on? - Moon Guard and Gnomeregan - same issues on both servers - tested Moon Guard

* What are you doing in-game when you experience the increased latency? - Tried to level but now just hanging out in Dalaran and trying to access the mailbox.

* Windows Xp, Vista, 7, or 8 (also include if it's a 32 or 64 bit version) - Vista, 32 bit

* Firewall (McAfee, Norton, ZoneAlarm, etc.) - Avast, disabled

* Router brand and model # (this should be printed somewhere on the front or back or bottom) - Belkin (didn't check model #)

* Cable or DSL Modem brand and model #(this should be printed somewhere on the front or back or bottom) - RCA Broadband (didn't check model #)

* ISP (Internet Service Provider) Insight/Time Warner

* Is the connection wired or wireless - wireless

* Location (City, State) - Florence, KY
