When I click on an attachment in a document to down load it, the "virus scan" dialog shows, but when I click "download attachment" in that dialog, the download does not start. I expect a file chooser dialog, or maybe an open/save choice, or whatever. Instead, I just see the status bar flash a "waiting for..." message, then "Done". It doesn't seem to matter what the file type is, and it does it no matter if I'm at home or at work (different computers, different Internet connection). This stopped working a couple of months or so ago, after working fine for years. I suspect it started on a Firefox upgrade, but not sure about that. I'm currently running the latest Firefox--3.5.3. "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:18.104.22.168) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3". It still works as expected on IE6 (the only other browser I have installed anywhere). Any ideas? Who should I report this to? yahoo? or mozilla?
Re: webmail not downloading attachments in Firefox
since it worked okay on IE6, it's definitely not an issue with Yahoo! Mail. it could be a setting on the Mozilla browser. on Mozilla, try going to TOOLS --> OPTIONS --> MAIN tab --> check the DOWNLOAD options/settings.
