e-mail...is it real or spam?

Hi Sonny here I am an x-employee from phone company and I got an e-mail today from the phone company and I need to know is it real.I think it is spam but not sure.Here is the E-mail

are having congestions due to the anonymous registration of Sbcglobal
and Att&t  accounts so we are shutting down some Sbcglobal and Att&t 
accounts and your account was among those to be deleted.We are sending you this
email so that you can verify and let us know if you still want to use this
account.If you are still interested please confirm your account by filling the
space below.Your User name,password,date of birth and your country information
would be needed to verify your account.

Due to the congestion in all
Sbcglobal  users and removal of all unused Sbcglobal and Att&t Accounts,
sbcglobal and Att&t  would be shutting down all unused Accounts, You will

clicking the reply button, or your account will be suspended within 48 hours for
security reasons.

This is not real. AT&T would never ask you for your password over email.
