Error Message from AT&T or Yahoo mail server?

I have called AT&T support about this two times and not gotten a straight answer to WHY is this message being sent to me. It looks like a HTML message but comes over as text, and appears to be generated by a mail server, or some other server. They went over my mail settings on my client and found nothing amiss, but still could not tell me where or why this message is being sent to me. Additional information is that it is sent to an email address that is on my account, but I haven't used for maybe 10 years or so.

Does anyone know what may be causing this? Here is the message copied from my email:

Re: Error Message from AT&T or Yahoo mail server?

Anyone gotten any more info on this issue? I get these messages several times a day, and my email client says it has trouble logging into the server. If I hit send several more times, it goes through, and then I may have no issues for a while. But it always pops up. Since I've been using my account for 9 years now, and have a fixed IP, I don't think there should be ANY issue sending email.

This only started a few months ago.

Re: Error Message from AT&T or Yahoo mail server?

I have gotten this same email. Was going to respond, but it didn't look exactly right.  Below is the email I received re "error 553".  I have substituted asterisks for my actual address.

Also, about 2 months ago, sometime late Feb, we started to get notices asking for verification of email passwords, and we are still getting 10-12 failures to connect to a server.  We have to resend some emails 2-3 times, or switch to another ATT email address.  then it finally sends.  quite frustrating.

Re: Error Message from AT&T or Yahoo mail server?

are you sending e-mail from this address to arrive to a different one? If you are you have to list the e-mail address in the yahoo e-mail properties.

Essentially you have to "verify" you own that address to your yahoo account.

Re: Error Message from AT&T or Yahoo mail server?

A "one time" verification or regsitration would be acceptable. But for one email to go out without any issues, then the next, even to the SAME email address or FROM the same email address (I have several sbcglobal addressess) to have to be resent 3 or 4 or 5 times before it goes, is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Didn't used to happen - what changed? And why isn't AT&T providing any answers?

Re: Error Message from AT&T or Yahoo mail server?

ALL my emails are from one of my AT&T / Yahoo email addresses (they have sbcglobal extension). So there should be no reason for my emails NOT to go through the servers without any problems. As I said, worked great until about 3 -4 months ago - been working ever since I got my account in 2002.

Re: Error Message from AT&T or Yahoo mail server?

you might have to enter the other sbcglobal.net and others as verified addresses. That wouldn't shock nor surprise me especially if you are sending e-mail from another account, through a different e-mail address.

Re: Error Message from AT&T or Yahoo mail server?

I am still getting these messages with a frequency of about 1-2 per month. The are sent to an email account that I DO NOT USE! The account has not been used for at least 10 years!
