Does U-verse block websites?

Hi,

There is a Chinese website (www.sodu.org) I've been visiting. Everything has been fine until a couple of weeks ago. Now the website is no longer accessible from U-verse network. But it works fine from my company network. It also works from translate.google.com.

Can someone try it from your U-verse network? I contacted U-verse support and was told to buy their paid PC tech support. I've the same issue on my desktop, laptop, and tablet. I don't think it's my machine setting issue.

Thanks

Ditto.  I was able to access the website very quickly...using your link on our U-verse service.

You can try going in and changing the settings in MWB or just temporarily disable it.  There is someting there that MWB doesn't like.

Re: Does U-verse block websites?

Sorry I do not have Uverse, have AT&T dsl extreme and have had similar problems. I have PC tools internet security. PC tools will block internet sites if reported as a bad site. PC tools does allow one to unblock the internet site regardless of "bad". You may want to check out any internet security program that may be running on your PC's. They all may be updated daily and automatically, with the same problem on all machines.

I can get to it, but Malwarebytes certainly doesn't like it.

Re: Does U-verse block websites?

I believe Uverse does block certain websites.  My credit union reenginneered their website and I could no longer access from my home computer with Uverse router.  My user access to website was good because I could access at work, just not home.  I had not changed any of my software or IE settings on my end, so first thought it was related to my IP address.  But that ws not the case.  It was later confirmed it was something through Uverse because I could not access it either on my ASUS tablet, which gets wireless internet via Uverse; however I can access website on my Verizon smartphone.

I called AT&T Customer Service for the fourth time with this information after they had tried misc items in the past like clearing cache, resetting IE defaults, sending me another router,etc...   Last attempt is where I paid AT&T Connect Tech for them to diagnose problem.  After few hours, tech was able to bring up credit union website through prozy server (KPROXY)and admitted to me that Uverse had blocked the site inadvertently.  We filled out some online form to "unbock" the website and was told that I would received email in couple of days saying site was unblocked.  To this very day, I still have not been able to access the website from home computer and it has been this way since February.
