An AT&T Installment Plan with Next Up lets you become early upgrade-eligible by turning in your current device for a new one after paying off 50% of the device cost. After you pay half of your 36 monthly device payments, plus $5 per month for the AT&T Next Up option, you’ll be eligible turn in your device to upgrade early.
Note: The $5 per month AT&T Next Up charge doesn’t apply toward the installment balance owed on your device.

My wife’s phone recently broke. She’s eligible for upgrade and we’ve ordered an iPhone 14 she doesn’t want the new phone though and would prefer to use my 13 pro. Can I activate her 14 under her and then swap it to my number after activation and keep the current credits we get for the device?
