Are you a U.S. military or service member being deployed or transferred?
Do you want to cancel your wireless service and hold your phone number for when you return? We can help you with that.
Under the Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA), if you’re an eligible service member or qualified spouse or dependent, you may have the option to:
- Pay no Early Termination Fees (ETF) upon cancellation of your wireless service.
- Can ask us to hold your number for up to 39 months so long as you reactivate your service within that time frame.
Let us show you how to cancel or reactivate AT&T wireless service if you’re U.S. military, a service member or a qualifying spouse or dependent.
Do you need to prepare for your military deployment?
In general, a service member with orders to relocate outside of AT&T's coverage area for 90 days or more can be eligible to cancel your service due to U.S. Military transfer or deployment.
If eligible, you can submit an online request to cancel or restore wireless service if you're:
• A spouse or dependent authorized to submit the request on behalf of an eligible service member.
• A primary account owner with a wireless service plan that includes an eligible service member on the plan.
Note: If you are a legal representative for an eligible service member, please contact us. You'll have to submit a copy of your power of attorney.

Eligible service members can cancel all lines on their account and Primary account owners can cancel any line on their account assigned to an eligible service member. They can also cancel any lines of the service member's dependents who will relocate with the service member.
We'll hold eligible numbers for up to 39 months. But you must restore your AT&T wireless service within that timeframe to keep the numbers. If you choose to not hold your numbers, you may not be able to get them back.

If you meet all requirements:
• The installment plan is for a device (or accessory) used on an eligible service member's line (or dependent relocating with such service member) that is being canceled.
• You entered the installment plan before the service member's deployment orders were issued.
• The buyer's remorse period for the device (or accessory) has expired
... we'll waive the remaining installments, and you get to keep the device or accessory.

Transitioning to civilian life can be challenging. That's why we're working with the SkillBridge Fellowship Program to help veterans find new opportunities after the military. The program matches civilian opportunities to a service member's training and experience and is open to any rank, enlisted or officer. SkillBridge Fellowship Program is proud to welcome participants who can train within the last 180 days of their service
We're working to modernize the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) data communications platform that will serve as a foundation for innovative VA technology capabilities to drive mission outcomes.
