What do my Wi-Fi gateway power status lights mean?
The power status lights on your Wi-Fi® gateway indicate:
- Green: The gateway is powered on.
- Flashing green: The gateway is starting.
- Amber: There’s a software update in progress. Don’t unplug the gateway or remove the battery until the update completes.
- Red: The gateway or power supply may be malfunctioning. Try rebooting your gateway to fix it.

What do these Pace 5268 Wi-Fi Gateway lights mean?
|Power||Green||The power is on.|
|Flashing green||The gateway is starting.|
|Amber||There’s a software update in progress. Don’t unplug the power or remove the battery until the update is complete.|
|Red||The gateway or power supply may be malfunctioning.|
|Battery||Green||The battery is installed, but the gateway isn’t currently using battery power.|
|Flashing green||The battery is charging.|
|Red||The battery backup is faulty.|
|Flashing red||The battery should be replaced.|
|Amber||The gateway is using battery power.|
|Flashing amber||The battery power is low.|
|Off||No battery is installed, or the battery isn’t charged.|
|Ethernet||Green||A computer or other device is connected to an Ethernet port.|
|Flickering green||There is activity from devices connected to an Ethernet port. The flickering of the light is synchronized to data traffic.|
|Wi-Fi||Green||A computer or other device is wirelessly connected to the gateway.|
|Flickering green||There is activity from devices connected using a wireless connection. The flickering of the light represents data traffic.|
|Home PNA||Green||A set-top box or other device is connected to the coaxial port.|
|Flickering green||There is activity from devices connected to the coaxial port. The flickering of the light is synchronized to data traffic.|
|Phone 1 & 2||Green||A phone is connected and registered.|
|Flashing green||The associated phone line is active.|
|Broadband 1 & 2||Green||The gateway is connected to our network.|
|Flashing green||The gateway is trying to connect to our network.|
|Flashing green and red||The gateway has been trying to connect to our network for more than three minutes.|
|Flashing red||The gateway can't connect to our network, or isn’t detecting a DSL signal.|
|Service||Green||The gateway has obtained an IP address from our network. The connection is active.|
|Fast flashing green||The gateway is trying to obtain an IP address.|
|Slow fashing green||Our network isn’t responding, the gateway is incorrectly configured, or there’s an authentication failure.|
|Red||Internet service authentication has failed.|
