What do these status lights mean on the 2Wire 3600 Wi-Fi Gateway?
Status Light | State | Description |
Power | Off | Power is off or gateway is not getting power |
Solid Green | Power is on. | |
Flashing Red | Power-On Self-Test (POST) in progress. | |
Solid Red | POST failed or gateway has malfunctioned. |
Status Light | State | Description |
Local Ethernet | Off | There is no Ethernet connectivity or the gateway is off. |
Solid Green | A computer or device is connected by Ethernet to the gateway. | |
Flashing Green | There is activity from devices connected to an Ethernet port. The flickering of the light is synchronized to data traffic. |

Wireless | Off | No devices are connected wirelessly or gateway is off. |
Solid Green | A computer or other device is connected to the gateway using a wireless connection. | |
Flashing Green | There is activity from devices connected using a wireless connection. The flickering of the light is synchronized to data traffic. |

Phone 1 and Phone 2 | Solid Green | Associated Voice Over IP (VoIP) line has been registered with a SIP proxy server. |
Flashing Green | A telephone is off-hook on the associated VoIP line. |

Broadband | Off | No physical signal detected. |
Solid Green | Broadband connection established via DSL or Ethernet. | |
Flashing Green | Gateway is attempting to make a broadband connection. | |
Solid Red | Gateway cannot make a broadband connection. |
Status Light | State | Description |
Service | Off | Gateway is not on, is in bridged mode, or the broadband connection is not present. |
Flashing Green | Data traffic is coming into or going out from the network. | |
Solid Green | The RG is downloading service updates from the network. | |
Flashing Red | Gateway is attempting IEEE 802.1X authentication or attempting to obtain Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) information. | |
Solid Red | Gateway has failed to receive an IP address assignment from the network. |
