When we signed up we were getting the correct local channels for our zip code, but now we are getting local channels for a different zip code. How can I switch back to our correct zip code?

DIRECTV NOW offers local channels within specified market areas. Your eligibility is dependent on your billing zip code, and your access depends on your streaming device and the device’s IP address (based on location data provided by your Internet Service Provider/ISP).
Access to local channels depends upon the licensing agreements DIRECTV NOW has with local markets at your current location. Local, regional, and national providers hold the streaming and broadcast rights to these channels in local markets. AT&T continues to work with providers to add local streaming options. Note: If streaming from a mobile device, local channel availability is dependent upon your billing zip code, the current physical location of the device based on device locations services. That's a somewhat silly response - the OP didn't say they weren't getting any locals, they said they were getting the wrong locals, so quoting back the help page that explains why a user isn't getting any locals (and which is badly phrased also) isn't useful. That info page says (basically) that you will only get locals for your billing zip code, and when you are at that zip code. There shouldn't be any way to get locals for a different zip code (whether you happen to be there or not). If the locals weren't stated to be dependent on billing zip but just location, then you might get the wrong ones if you were determined to be at an incorrect location (which does happen all the time), but according to the info, they are dependent on billing zip.
@sepennington @Jrandomuser - So, your local channel eligibility depends on your billing location, but your local channel viewing access depends on your physical location (or more specifically, the physical location / IP Address of your device). Wondering if this is something that is only happening on a certain device....

I too, get the wrong local channels here in TX. I live in Killeen, our local channels are out of Waco, but the only channels availability come from austin (does not cover our area with local news). I utilized the local channel look up and noticed that even Waco zip codes have Austin channels.
Will we get channels (KWTX, KXXV, etc) from Waco anytime soon? I understand it goes by zip code, billing, and IP address. I’ve already read that, we had Hulu Live on the same Apple TV and can get local channels from Waco, will the Direct TV app get them? If not, I will return to Hulu.
So I live in Houston Texas and I’m getting Dallas local news and that doesn’t make sense
I live in Houston, Texas Zipcode is 77040. I do not any of the Houston Channels which I used to be able to watch before the ATT implements the NEW website. The local channels I have not is from Portland. I am in Houston, my billing address is a Houston Zipcode 77040. I have nothing to do with Portland nor any connection. I have contacted ATT several times last week and the issue of wrong local channel still have not been corrected. In fact, at one instance, they even cancelled my subscription - I had to spent lots lots of time chatting with ATT NOW on chat. Already, would you please help.
Please not, I encounter this "wrong local channels" when logging in and watch on my desktop and laptop. Mobile devices are OKs. Please help. Thanks.

I have 4 Fire TVs and updated 3 to the new app on May 24, 2018. The new app on all 3 pulls local channels from Phoenix, AZ. I live in the Minneapolis, MN area. The old app still gets my correct locals in MN.
I have the exact same scenario as HomeBrewski. I updated my fire stick to the new app and now I get my locals out of Kansas City and not Wichita. If I go to my account and view on a laptop, it is correct, no issues. I think the new app for the fire stick has some kind of issue with it determining the correct location.
We just experienced the same issue. The DIRECTV Now app on the Firestick was updated yesterday and we now receive local channels from San Francisco. We live in Chicago! Does anyone know how to fix this? Please help!
I too have the same problem with getting wrong local channels. I live in San Antonio, TX but my guide now shows programming and local channels for Portland, Oregon. This is occurring only on my desktop, not on my iphone or tablet. I have chatted with the DirectV Now technical support guys but they could not correct the problem. They now say they are elevating it to their tech team. I also am noticing my picture on my desktop is now very dark when I watch a channel. Not sure what is causing that. Before, I have great pictures on my desktop monitor. I hope they get this mess cleared up soon.
Since the new update my local channels have changed to New York and I’m in Sacramento CA, but the issue is only at home with the fire stick. Everything works well on my desktop and phone as long as I’m not connected to our home WiFi.
I have the exact same problem. I live in the Kansas City area and am getting local channels for Portland Oregon on my PC. Both the FireStick and Apple TV on my televisions are getting the correct locals, just my laptop. Directv has elevated my ticket but no help yet.
Same problem here. I live in San Antonio but I'm getting locals from Portland, Oregon. It only happens on my laptops (one apple, one windows), none of my other devices(apple tv, iPad, iPhone)
Same here. We've been getting our locals fine on amazon fire tv for our area which is washington d.c.. Since the update we are getting Richmond locals which doesn't even include all the locals when our area does.
I recently retried it on my phone app with the WiFi and it had the correct local channels and the Apple TV is on the same WiFi and the local channels are correct. I think the issue is with FireStick. Disappointing because it worked fine before the update. But whenever there’re changes there’s always some hiccups.
How can we improve?
