Wi-Fi and international calling
Two questions: Will use of a Wi-Fi connection to check email or sent texts trigger any phone charges if my phone is in airplane mode (i.e., no cellular, no roaming)? But "Wi-Fi" calling will trigger separate charges, right?

No to both. WiFi calling will not trigger separate charges unless you call an international number. When you are on WiFi calling, it’s the same as if you were in the US connected to a cell tower.
