Were other customers lied to in Fall 2016 about a "free phone upgrade" if you add Direct TV?
I went into ATT store in November 2016 to upgrade my phone. Guy told me that I'd get it free if I added Direct TV and in the end would pay $5 less. Now, my fault because I didn't look at my autopay amounts until now (9 months later), but utter lies. I pay for Direct TV *and* installment plan on iPhone. So I call to say "hey, bookkeeping error" and they tell me there was never any promo and it's not their problem and there's nothing they can do. How is this even LEGAL? So I'm out hundreds of dollars to a company I've been loyal to for 4+ years and am now considering moving to Verzion. I mean I definitely am leaving ATT, because I don't do business with liars, but not sure which company I'll pick. Anyone experience similar?
