Visual voicemail

I’m being charged between $10-$20 a month for visual voicemail but can’t set it up, because my voicemail was deactivated, because I forgot to setup my voicemail I’m told. So how come I’m still being charged for visual voicemail when att deactivated it? Most companies don’t charge for voicemail to begin with is the worst part of all.

No, you are not. Visual voicemail is a free service provided by AT&T. The charge you are seeing is your line access fee which pays for your phone number and unlimited talk and text.

Hello,

The $20 line access with visual voicemail isn’t a voicemail charge... it’s he cost of your talk, text, data plan and slits “visual voicemail” because it’s included when you’re on a plan with an iPhone. You can dial “1” (hold down for 5 seconds) or go to Settings > Phone > Voicemail if it’s not allowing setup through the typical Phone > Visual Voicemail way.

I have had Visual Voicemail on my phone for a long time.  It has disappeared.  I called 611 was told to reset my phone.  I have reset my phone several times.  Called 611.  Was told they would fix the problem.  They have not.  I use this for my business, as well as for serious health issues and personal calls.

What is going on?

Not enough information.  Are you saying your voicemail does not work? Or are you saying that visual voicemail does not work? Or are you saying you no longer can use transcription?

What phone?

Is the phone new?

Was there an update?

Are you able to access your voicemail box with your PIN and listen to messages?

Has your VM box number been removed from your phone?

AT&T voicemail works by forwarding any missed phone calls to another number. If that number is deleted or changed your unanswered calls have no place to go. You need to speak with someone in advanced Tech Support to make sure that that phone number is on your phone, in settings.

Visual voicemail works differently as it downloads a audio recording of the phone call on to your device. AT&T visual voicemail requires an iPhone or a compatible Android phone in order to use visual voicemail. No matter what you can still use standard voicemail.

Transcription is only available on iPhone because it is built into apples software. It is no longer available on current Android devices.
