Unauthorized line

I bought a new phone from an AT&T store in 2020. Paid the phone off, it was hooked up to my fiancés number. It’s now 2023 and I have switched because my bill increased to much to find out that there is a 4th line on my account that I didn’t ask for, authorize, or know about until now. I switched my 3 lines to T-Mobile and 3 months later they bill me for $320 for this line that I didn’t know about. When I called in the rep literally chuckled and said “yeah, it’s a marketing tactic used by people in the store. We get a lot of calls because the stores messed up”. They offered $100 off the $320. I think it’s insane they would expect someone to pay for a line that was fraudulent in the first yplace. I work in sales and would never mislead someone for my own fortune. It’s shame’s. Shady sales people in their stores.

You're supposed to read your bill more often than once every 3 years. Like every month.

And if you think T-Mobile isn't going to do the same thing you are delusional. You should be reading your bill at least once every 3 months because that's the length of time the T-Mobile will allow you to dispute charges in arrears that are incorrect.

You should always read your bill immediately after you make any changes to make sure that the bill is in line with what you expected. Especially since there's still only a 14-day return window with both T-Mobile and AT&T
