Tired of the run around with prices and services! And increases out of nowhere....
Got my latest combined bill. Cell phone portion of bill is over $13 more than last month for two phones on an antiquated grandfathered in plan. Loyalty Dept. couldn't explain why bill has gone up - said that is just the price now but will credit my bill "this time" for the overage because I wasn't notified about the increase but that will be the price moving forward - over $120 for a 12 mb shared plan with 2 phones a month and WITH a $40 monthly discount. But being we have combined bill and all the services on it are screwed up on different billing dates, I won't even see the credit for it on this bill. So I am just postponing the inevitable and the credit right now is a joke. Why did our bill just go up AGAIN?!?!?! Should we just go with TMobile or some other carrier at this point. Was told via chat what we have the cheapest they even offer.

The original post was discussing price increase. I experienced this so I did not hijack this post, I merely reacted to the fact that this is happening. If that is rude what is the purpose of a forum? I check my spam and in the many years I have had my account with the email address that is current and never getting any emails from ATT is another reaction to other posts. I have created my own posts. Thanks for your concerns.

Carlton ATT how do I private message you? I believe my account is correct. I checked my account, it says my ID which is my email address has been verified so wouldn't that mean my email address is correct?

I recall that last increase, that is why I am frustrated with yet another one, on this antiquated plan. We barely use even half the data given to us - don't need much and honestly unlike most, use our phones AS phones, and nothing else. We do need good cell working service which ATT does provide and that is our worry going to cheaper providers - the coverage will be horrible. Just wish they had something more affordable for people not sucking up ATTs data or their air time.

It might be time for you to completely change how you do business, and by that I mean stop using postpaid service. All of the post paid service providers offer unlimited data and The Sweet spot is between four and five phone lines. People who only have one or two phone lines are going to pay much more per line than someone who has a full family plan.
You can go over to cricket which is essentially at&t prepaid service with a measured amount of data and a lower bill. You can go even cheaper by going to someplace like consumer Cellular. You can purchase your own phones straight from the manufacturer, unlocked, as long as they are compatible with whichever carrier you choose.

Yes we both have unlocked phones and just the two lines - I see what you mean.... Does Cricket really have the same coverage as ATT? That is my big worry. We buy cheaper plans with another carrier but then have no service when we need it or no hotspot included at all which we use/need time to time when our ATT DSL is unbearably slow sometimes!! Still never use our combined 12 data. Thanks for your help!
@Carlton, thank you very much as well!!!

re consumer Cellular and ATT. I had CC with a phone I bought through CC. After several months I did not find the service with CC to be what worked for me (this was several years ago so a lot could have changed). I took my CC phone to ATT and explained what I had etc. They said my phone was not compatible with their plan and forced me to buy a new phone to get service with ATT. When I went to pick it up from ATT, this time a different store that the one that told me I needed a new phone. I asked them why the phone I had would not work with their system since CC uses ATT towers. This store said I did NOT need a new phone. But the cost to reshelve the item would cost me more than the phone. I argued with ATT that since I was misled to buy a new phone which I certainly did not need, I should be made whole since I relied on their expertise. Sorry they said, go back to the store that told me this. So I did. They admitted what they told me was incorrect but did not want the phone so told me to keep it and credited my account with the cost of the phone. So do your homework when it comes to what an employee tells you vs what you may not need.
