Terminate the phone plan and get the refund

Hi. I have a phone plan that started on March 12. However, I had to go back to my home country on March 14 without having chance to terminate the phone plan due to coronavirus outbreak. I contacted At&t to terminate my phone plan abroad here in South Korea, but it didn’t work. And now I found out that $80 was just charged on April 4. It’s unfair that I paid that much for using two days which is almost one day because I left US at 4am on March 14. How can I terminate my phone plan and get the refund? Thanks a lot.

If you start a plan on March 12th, and we're charged again on the 8th of April I'm guessing prepaid service.
Prepaid does not refund, if you want to ask for a refund anyway you have to call AT&T. There is a number for prepaid International Travelers at the bottom of this webpage if you click on the contact us link

Once you get AT&T on the phone that you have to ask them to turn off auto-pay and plead your case. I would not expect much if I were you because there is no mechanism to refund, all they can do is credit your existing account which would extend your balance for 90 days.

If you cannot get AT&T on the phone, please contact your financial institution and have them cancel and reissue the debit or credit card use to refill your prepaid account.

FYI it takes less than a minute to log into a prepaid account turn off the auto pay function, which would have stopped the second refill from ever happening. However you have to do this from inside the United States because access is purposely blocked from outside.
