Switcher Rebate Problems!

I signed up with ATT last July of 2016. Submitted my switcher rebate in Aug.  Was denied for not having the right "final" sprint bill.  RE-Applied giving them the correct "final" sprint bill  in DECEMBER of 2016.  Just got confirmation yesterday March 16th, 2017 that I was denied again.  Called ATT and after having a human in less than a few minutes the person told me they would have to transfer me.  I was transfered and have been on hold an hour with no updates on wait time or chance to be called back. This is frustrating beyond explanation.  I feel I was scammed into this "promotion."  I've been with them now for 8 months and paid Sprint almost $600 to move to ATT.  I was told that would be reimbursed.  I also signed up for DirectTV as well.  Feeling like this was all a scam by the sale representative and the overall marketing department of ATT and DirectTV.   PLEASE HELP ME!  I am due what was told to me would be reimbursed!

Hello @sfdc76,

I’m sorry to read you’re having issues with the switcher program.  You definitely came to the correct place looking for help.  I’ve worked with this program many times, so I’ll be able to help get down to the bottom of what is going on.  I’ll need some details from you about the information you submitted.

I’m going to send you a private message to take a look into this for you.  Please keep an eye on your Forums Inbox.  I look forward to helping with this, and thanks for your time.

Good day!

I have been stalled again.  Larry from the community forum said he could help me after I posted my original complaint of not getting my money back from when I switched from Sprint to ATT back in June of 2016.  I'm about to start a campaign on social media detailing the company of ATT stealing my money.

Not a message of just horrible customer service but of stealing money.

How much did you owe on your  phones?

How much did you get for trade in credits or gift cards?

Why did they deny your final billing?

Good morning,

I do not know how much I owed on the phone.  I was with Sprint and was told that by ending my contract, giving them my phone, and paying all final bills to Sprint and giving copies of all final bills to ATT would make allow them to send me the visa gift card.

I did not get any credits or giftcards.

They denied my final billing as stated in a mailer I received because they did not receive my phone.  I was in an ATT store and the sales representative took it from me on site while I signed up for not just ATT service but for DirecTV as well.  All this was done in one sitting on a store site.

Thank you.

@sfdc76  It's on your final bill.  Your final bill has the lease cancelation fee or ETF.  It would also have final months service and taxes, which are not reimbursed.

For example:

Lets say final bill is $350, $200 is lease cancelation fee on an iPhone 6S.

ATT gives you gift cards or account credit for $100 when you trade in your phone.  And you buy a new phone on Next installments.  Your receipt shows both purchase and trade in and is proof of trade in.   You can get a reprint of this receipt at the store.

You submit the final bill and ATT should send you a prepaid card for the $100 left.

How it can go wrong

-  The account number gets screwed up, so young America doesn't have proof of trade in.  Get a copy of receipt and contact Larry again.

-   The phone didn't match your final bill.   Let's say you were mad at Sprint cause the 6s broke and they wanted you to pay it off anyway, so you used an old phone and switched carriers, trading in a non-qualifying phone voids the reimbursement.

-   You didn't factory reset and turn off find my iPhone.

-   Phone was defective, non working or damaged.

-   Phone was sent back to the wrong warehouse.  This happens with mailed trade in phones.

Thank you.  I submitted all of those receipts with the final ETF and other information from Sprint to ATT.

I will be returning to the store and requesting a reprint of the original receipt.

Thank you for your tips.  I will update as soon as I can to see if you can help anymore or to state of a success.

So a guy named Larry has been in contact with me.  It is under the "ATTCARES" username.  Is he an official employee and able to help me?  He is asking for my phone number and certain account numbers from SPRINT and other information in order, he says, to resolve the issue.

Thank you
