SICK TO DEATH OF BEING LIED TO ABOUT BOGO ON MY NEW PHONE
To Everyone:
Last October 2018, I agreed to get the BOGO iPhone 8. Well, since then I got the 2 iphone8's and both phones worked......but then, in December 2018, I got a BILL from
the LYING DIVISION of AT&T and I was sent a bill for $1,089.00 because I didn't activate the new "account" they had created for me. I called them immediately--and as you all know, I talked to approximtely 15-20 people who consistently lied and shrugged their shouders and acted like I was the U.E. (User Error). I have called them so many times. I have been smart enough to get names (although they are probably fake) and a confimation number that the "Back Room" had seen that "someone at AT&T" made an error and AT&T would clear it up. This has gone on for 3 months now. I am terrified they are going to turn on the service to my regular, paid-off account, and tank my credit over something THEY did. I finally got a person who gave me ANOTHER confirmation number and told me they could see there was a problem. I am promised a "fix-it" by yesterday---but yesterday came and went without ONE DARN CALL OR CANCELLATION OF DEBT ON A ACCOUNT I DID ***NOT*** AUTHORIZE OR AGREE TO. I am beyond irritated. I am sorry for the "all-caps" but I don't feel as if AT&T has been truthful to me WHATSOEVER. I want the FAKE account deleted and ALL negative items removed from any and all credit report. How do most people handle this problem??

Bogo wasn’t set up correctly.
Any bogo deal requires a new line on existing account, installments on both phones.
How did you purchase the phones? Store? Online?

I get that you're frustrated, but hyperbole doesn't help. For instance, I'm sure the bill you received didn't say "Lying Division."
It sounds like what happened is a new account was set up rather than a new line added to the existing account. If that wasn't your intent, then that's a problem. File a complaint with the BBB which will get you escalated to the Office of the President. As @lizdance40 mentioned, you had to add a line to qualify for the BOGO, so that might end up being the final answer. In any case, the Office of the President will be able to give you the best resolution.
