Scammed by an agent AT&T at Sam’s Club Brandon, Tampa

I was scammed by one of your agents at Sam's Club. He asked me how much I paid for the telephone service I had, I told him $105 for me and my son. He told me I could get better service for the same price. although I told him that I wasn't interested because for that price, I had Amazon Prime. he convinced me that I would pay the same price with a new iPhone. And he told me, because my son had a IPhone 12, he could change it with any charge.
Now I find myself stuck with a bill sometimes over $400 that I can't pay and what's worse, I can't break the contract. I think this is a real scam and that consumers should find justice in this situation.

Sam’s club reps are not AT&T employees. Is this your first bill? The first bill is always higher. Prices are published online. Compare your bill to what the website shows your price should be.

No lockdoncralyness, this is not my first bill. After several visits to Sam’s, they told me only ATT can fix it. I was in one of the AT&T branches, the office agent contacted the Sam's club people responsible for this service. They promised me that they will return my credits and make sure that I pay the amount of $105 that they told me. They didn't return any credit to me and I ended up with a minimum bill of $210 each month.

@Mirlande  As mentioned, the AT&T kiosk in Sam's Club (like Target, Costco, etc) are independently owned and operated totally separate from AT&T and they do not have AT&T employees. They may wear the shirts and name tags but they are not AT&T.  Their sole purpose is to sell AT&T goods and services however they can, which can mean misleading the the customer or not disclosing the details of the offer. They just make the sale and then pass the information on to AT&T who has no clue as to what was said and/or promised to the customer. And, AT&T will only honor what is listed, in detail, on their website regardless of what you were told by the sales person. AT&T has no legal control over their business practices. The same is true for the physical stores. There are Authorized Retail Store and then there are Corporate Stores. Both look exactly the same only the Retail Stores are independents just like the kiosks. Technically you did business with the Retail outlet (Sam's Club) and not AT&T.

File an online complaint with the BBB. That will get forwarded to AT&T Upper Management and someone will contact you. Hopefully they can straighten it out to your satisfaction. That is as high up in AT&T that a customer can go.
