question about auto pay

Hello, I just signed up for the new unlimited plus plan, and I wanted to take advantage of the auto pay discount, but I have a question about auto pay. My family shares an AT&T account, and everyone pays their own portion of the bill using their own payment method. What I'm hoping to do is to have everyone pay their portion of the bill before the due date (which is the 15th in my case), and then for the remaining balance to be taken out of my account. Would this still be possible if auto pay is set up, or will the full amount have to be withdrawn from my checking account?

Greetings @blindmike95,

This is a great question regarding AutoPay. I can definitely share some insight!

If you setup AutoPay, it will automatically draft the current balance for the month. So you are correct, your other family members have the ability to login during the billing cycle to make a payment. Then, when the bill is due, only the remaining balance will draft from your account. In order to setup AutoPay, please login and follow these steps:

  • Select  the myAT&T tab at the top.
  • Hover over Bill & Payments, then select Manage AutoPay.
  • Select your account.
  • Chose an existing account, New Checking/Savings Account, or New Credit/Debit Card.
  • After you confirm the changes – it is automatically setup; no further action is needed.
  • Please note, the discount/credits will apply witin 2-3 billing cycle.

A considerable option which may make the process easier for you is setting up an Access ID for each person who pays their portion of the bill which will give them access to their line only. You can click here to do create a new one.

Have a great weekend!
