Prepaid plans

Hello,

I tired switching my prepaid plan from the 30 dollar a month with 5 GB to the 300 yearly plan with 8 G. The nice lady said that it was only for new members. So, my question is why does a new member get a better plan and gets to pay less when I have been an ATT costumer for years and have paid my bills on time, every time. The only way for me to get the plan would be to deactivate my number and get a new number, which makes little sense.

because thats how they entice new customers. same as new tv customers get a discount for 12 months of a 24 month contract.

Cool. Thank you. It looks like Verizon has some better plans for new costumers.

There is a way to keep your number. Port it elsewhere and then port it back. It will then qualify is a new activation and you can get the $300 plan.
