Post to: where can I write a review of AT&T?

My husband and I have been AT&T customers for more than 20 years.  I cannot believe that this once-great company has lost its way so badly.  Their customer service is TERRIBLE and the directory seems to intentionally put customers into a seemingly endless maze of being transferred from one agent to another.  I guess they hope that customers will give up on reaching an agent and hang up.  As I write this review, I have been on hold for more than 45 minutes and transferred to 5 different customer service agents.  It's ridiculous!!!  Hopefully, a bright entrepreneur will see that the industry is ripe for disruption and create a new phone company that values customers and their time.

I would also never recommend AT & T to anyone. My 79 year old mother moved to senior apartments. I signed her up last August for AT&T Internet. The woman on the phone told me they would give her the rate of $40 per month, for lifetime!! One year later her bill goes up to $50 per month. This is a woman on a fixed income who was told her rate would not increase. I call AT&T and the person in billing, Daniella tells me it will now be $50 per month and that she is getting a $10 discount for life! They are all liars!! I told her we would be looking elsewhere for internet. She sent me to "customer loyalty" where they could give us a better deal to keep us from leaving. I spoke with Casey, who was the rudest person I have yet to speak with. She basically told me there was nothing they could/would do, and sorry to see you go!! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! So I will be looking for a better internet service for both my mother's account and my own!

Similar experience! Have been on the phone for 51 min trying to do the right thing by alerting AT&T that I have to cancel the new installation that was scheduled for a new house in 4 days. I could have just let them show up to an empty house since we are not moving in now. But, took 4 people to get to the person who could actually cancel the service! Tired of having to deal with companies that outsource to individuals who speak English as a second language. Finally got to an American in the Loyalty department in Dallas, TX who insisted I should keep the account open and schedule for a future date. She would not take no for an answer. At this point, I am so frustrated with AT&T and their poor customer service. I can't even imagine what it would take to actually have to resolve a true technical issue! It took nearly an hour just to cancel a service call! That should have been a 5-10 min call at most and my blood pressure shouldn't be through the roof due to the frustration!
I think I dodged a bullet - as I honestly won't be a future AT&T customer based on this experience.
This was for service in a new home in Illinois. I live in Kentucky and currently have fiber internet with a different provider. I do know what excellent customer service is! Thank you, Metronet! It's unfortunate that Metronet is not in Illinois where we are looking for a new home.

I have been trying to get my service fixed since May! I cannot have a bill sent to me without them charging me to send the bill even though I cannot log into my account because they cannot fix the glitch that has haunted my account since May. They charge me a late fee every month since the only way I can pay is to make an appointment at the store which since COVID has been a nightmare! The last appointment I made I sat out in my car for over an hour in a parking lot waiting for a new phone and to pay my bill. They say they will remove the fee on next month's bill and it never has happened not even once! I have been on hold this morning for over 4 hours (still on hold as I write this) and I have talked to 3 people 2 of which were in India and had no idea what they were even talking about or any knowledge of anything ATT. I have my account for over 30 years and I can honestly say it’s time for a change! This is the worst service ever and I would never do business with them again our new company phones we bought through Verizon got that deal because of the way they have handled my account!!! #ATT #attsucks #badservice #customerservice #customerexperience

I have been with direct-tv for 30 years/never a problem.  since they joined at&t my rates continually go up and I lose channels I like.  I called direct-tv when they joined with at&t and warned them that at&t cannot be trusted. I learned my lesson 15 years ago that at&t cannot be trusted. I have stayed clear of any dealings with at&t for 15 years, now direct-tv forces them back into my life.

Two weeks a go I bought a ling charging cable for my iPhone from the ATT store at 1800 N federal hwy pompano beach, fl

Along with $50 of other stuff. I have purchased 2 phones from this store over the past few years.

 

The charging cable fell apart after 2.5 weeks. Both schmucks in the store told me they didn't cover damaged cables . They never even looked at the cable! They blamed me for damaging it. It has an open circuit and doesn't charge. Both Josh and his manager were rude and told me they are willing to loose a long term Custer over a $10 cable 

 

File this in the "CAN'T FIX STUPID CATEGORY!"

The lack of service and rudeness is mind blowing
