PIN needed for phone consult

I just had a phone conversation with the AT&T rep. Amel.

She immediately asked for my AT&T PIN. I was hesitant to allow it.

My question is: Is it legit for an AT&T customer representative to ask for my PIN to conduct business about my AT&T account?

Yes. Absolutely every time. Existing customers will not receive service unless they can provide a PIN code to validate that they are the legitimate owner of their account

Customer service already knows what your PIN code is based on the phone number you're calling from. But if you don't know it you need to reset it in your online account
