Phone sent using att label said they didn't get it

I ordered a new phone and sent my old one back using the box and label att sent me and they said they never got my phone.  They are now charging me for the phone I sent back. I called customer service they just said sorry didn't receive that's it.  I don't even have a tracking number didn't think I'd need it. Att should have a tracking number bc they generated it.

I'm sorry it's been lost.

I'm also sorry that you sent back a phone worth (likely) hundreds of dollars to you, and you didn't get any paperwork related to you mailing it back.

When I mail something to a company at the post office, I get a receipt with tracking info on it. Not only to have tracking info, but to prove I mailed it.  I also take a few pictures of how I wrapped it before mailing it, so it's harder to blame me if it arrives damaged. Items that I'm returning are primarily my responsibility until they get it, some are their issue as they pick the shipping company.

This is happening to me right now . 6 months after we sent the phone back they now want to say they didn’t get it and I have to pay for it 😞 once I get this cleared up, I am so done with AT&T.
