pay for phone but not the service to it

Hello, I currently have around 8 lines on my account with some of them belonging to phones that are not in use yet still under contract.  I was wondering, is it possible for someone to continue to pay the contracted amount on a phone yet disconnect the service/not have to pay for service to it?  There would still be other lines that were in use on the account though.

If you cancel service on a line for a device that has installments or a two-year contract you will be billed either for the remaining installments, or the early termination fee on the contract.

No, you cannot continue to pay installments unless you have an active service on the line.   When you purchased the phones and signed the agreements for the retail installment purchase, it included the information that if you cancelled the line of service you had to pay for the phone and it would be billed to you on your next bill.
