oh no........fine prints!

I swithched from Sprint to AT&T in Nov 2019, signed up for Unlimited Extra plan with 3 lines. I read pricing for the plan to be about 150 per month for 3 lines which looked rrasonable, although slightly higher than what I was paying at Sprint. When I received the bill then realized that there is access chrage $45 ($35 after autopay & paperless billing) per line which I did not know when signed up for the plan, which pretty much doubles the cost of the plan, :(

I did not have to pay this additional charge to Sprint, if I did it was included in quoted monthly cost of the plan which was around $125 for 3 lines...... NO GOTCHA!

We traded in 3 iphone 7s to get 3 new iphone 11s from AT&T , free after trade in monthly credits. This plan is costing me additional $100+ than what I thought it would cost me every month. I want to get out of AT&T and swith to other compatible provider where charges would more reasonable. Other than paying off the new iPhones, what will be additional penalty per line to get out of contract? Will I receive any credit for 3 iPhone 7s I sent to AT&T as part of the trade in offer?

You are misreading your bill because your information and understanding is incorrect. The plan for 3 Lines is $150 just exactly as quoted online. The fact is AT&T has not adopted simple pricing so you're bill will show all of AT&T crazy math. However the end result if you have added auto-pay and paperless billing as required to meet that $150 price is absolutely correct.

The math, as on your bill is this:

3 lines, 80+45+45+45-10-10-10-35 = $150

$80 is the plan, -35 is the plan discount for 3 lines.

$45 is each line fee. -10 is the auto pay and paperless discount on each line.

Unlimited plan details

If you read right under the per line price, it clearly says the price is after the auto pay and paperless credits.

Your bill does not yet include the credits for the phones you traded in, that can take up to three bills to show those credits. This was also in the fine print on the promotion that you participated in.
Since you switched in November the credits on the phones are due in February.

Thank you @lizdance40 for your quick response. I like what you wrote and I hope that's what it is. Here is how the summary of my 2nd bill looks-

- It does show trade in credits

- Monthly charges for first phone includes $40 for protection/Insurance which I will be removed from mmy account, that brings the total down to about $250 per month.

- which credit is still missing, you think?

here is tge break up-

3 trade in credits 23.34x3 = -70.02

group 1, 2, 3 monthly charges 40x3 = 120

monthly charges tied to 3 lines = 58.34x3 = 175.2

protection and insurance = 40

surcharges and fees = 13.62

govt taxes and fees = 9.28

total = 287.9

w/o protrction/insurance 247.9

The ability to add photos seems to temporarily not work.

How much are the installments? The $23.34 credit is against the installments.

If you have three lines on unlimited extra, your average cost per line is $50, don't know where the $40 x 3 is coming from. Your bill should be showing a $45 line fee less $10 if auto-pay and paperless billing are active. Net $35
Plan charge is $80 - 35, net $45

Thanks for your help @lizdance40.

I checked with local AT&T store, my account was setup to have 3 individual single lines instead of one family plan with 3 lines. They have fixed it now.
