New Unlimited Plus plan and corporate discounts - Deceptive

I just gave up my grandfathered unlimited plan to switch to the new Unlimited Plus plan.  Before doing so I chated with a customer service rep, because I had some questions about the details of the plan.  I specifically asked if corporate discounts will still apply.  Through my company I get a 25% of the base service charge and I wanted to make sure I still would under the new plan.   He said it would and then came back and said he double checked and confirmed that "discount should still be applied even if the plan package has changes".  Well after go ahead with the change, the new bill estimate wasn't showing the discount so I called to ask.  This CS agent I spoke with apologized, but said that the first guy was incorrect and my corporate discount did not apply to the new Unlimited Plus plan.  Either the first guy was misinformed or deceptive, I'm not sure but I do have the chat transcript to prove what he told me.  In either case I feel the product was misrepresented and ATT got me to give up my grandfathered plan.   Ultimately even without the discount I'm still paying less, it's just not as good as I was led to believe.

Do I have any recourse to get them to honor what I was told or just have to chalk it up to crappy CS?

@bsaggie If you call they might be able to get it back.  (Ask for customer loyalty)

On Friday the guy's at a local corporate were still thinking you could still get it (I did not argue with them, I was just taking a survey).

@bsaggie, Yeap crappy service. It says right in the details that only the military discount applies to the new unlimited plan.

I am right there with you. I called minutes after switching to the "New" unlimited plan and was assured that my corporate discount was applied. Once my bill came in, same thing, no, discount. After chatting for over 2 hours no resolution just the same junk, (bc you can't say bad words) run around. Does not apply, too bad so sad for you. Tell people, let them know that after years of being a customer and having a discount that you'll lose it bc for whatever reason att does not want to give us one. The new unlimited plan is crap anyway, 22 gigs. What's that for a family? Cricket gives you at least 8mbps unlimited, not 3mbps for triple the cost. Come on att! Want to lose customers, you're well on your way.

3mbps for triple the cost?  Cricket is $60 for one line unlimited.  ATT Choice (the 3mbps) is $60 for one line unlimited.  Cricket throttles after 22 gigs as well, if you read their fine print:

"Starting April 2, 2017, if you are on the Unlimited Plan (including promotionally priced versions) and use more than 22GB of data during any monthly plan cycle, your data speeds may be temporarily slowed during periods of network congestion for the rest of that monthly plan cycle."

They max at 8mbps.  ATT Choice maxes at 3mbps (advantage Cricket).  The Unlimited Plus from ATT has unlimited download speed (up to 80mbps here), but is $90/month for one line.

So apples to apples for one line of unlimited, Cricket is slightly better, but when you start looking at multiple lines (4 lines on Plus - the best one from ATT with tethering, etc= $185/mo) ATT is about the same as Cricket (4 lines at $60/line = $240/mo - $60/mo for extra lines = $180/mo total).  However this is comparing the Plus to Cricket.  The plus is much better IMO.

Regardless, triple the cost is a bit of 'fuzzy math'.

I will agree it is a viable alternative to those who are fed up with ATT tho.  They look like they have a great coverage map.

I had the similar experience with AT&T service representatives. I find out later that they have a commission pay structure.  They will help you to switch without telling customer the details. I am not sure whether they do not have knowledge or simply just want the commission. If you ask them to send an email confirmation before the switch.  You may not have this problem.  Most times, they are not willing to send email. Even if they send, you will find out that the content in email will be different than the phone conversation. It was not the case 5-10 years ago.  Now AT&T have these practices. They less care of costumers feedback due to less competition.

ATT must  be being even more deceptive,  this is what my account looks like in the plan switch section.  So what you guys are saying is that even though these 2 pages from my account are showing a discount that is  a blatant lie?    Wouldn't that be a big old bait and switch?
