Lack of Transparency

Has anyone else been subjected to a lack of transparency when signing on with AT&T? Only finding out about additional fees AFTER activating new devices? The current tally for calls to customer service is six in a 2 week period for issues. No idea what the first bill will be and when it will be due. I’m ready to run back to Verizon. I was told the customer service would be better. I was told they treat Veterans better. The call center employees are lovely, but the policies are not their fault. This has been far from pleasant experience. Please advise- is it worth staying or do I cut my losses????

Where did you do business? In-store (Authorized or Corporate), at a kiosk (Sam's Club, Target, Costco, etc) or online with AT&T directly? Did you read the TOS completely?

🤦‍♂️target lists are not AT&T nor AT&T employees they are a third party sales company. You had to have agreed to the tos just to get service.

@mcdone  Then you did business with a Retail Outlet, not AT&T. Those retail outlets are not owned or operated by AT&T and are not staffed with AT&T employees. They just resell AT&T goods and services and then pass the information on to AT&T. Quite a lot of them will say just about anything to make a sale and will purposely mislead a customer or leave out important details to make that sale. AT&T's website lists in detail the TOS, which you should always read for any carrier, as well as payment plans, etc. AT&T will only honor what is listed on their website.

Hello mcdone, This is not the customer experience we want you to have.

Let's meet in a Direct Message to submit your feedback so that we can work on our areas of opportunity. Please check you Direct Message inbox (it's the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the forums).

In the meantime check out the AT&T Policy center where you can review Terms of Service.

Looking forward to speaking with you soon.

Thank you for visiting AT&T Community Forums!

@mcdone  File a complaint with the BBB. That goes directly to AT&T Corporate and someone from the Office of the President will contact you. They are Senior Managers who have more authority and resources available to them than the CS Agents.
