Free texting to Ireland. Link to list of countries that are free to text to. Text to a U.S. number +1 then the 10 digit number. If the phone number is another country, the list has the prefix for that country.

One small caveat, free international texting assumes you are on one of the recently available plans. If you have an old grandfathered plan, then that might not be the case.

Unless you have a pay per use plan, all of the current plans include texting to 240 other countries at no additional charge.
