How do I get my credit refunded to me?

I paid for a full month, but cancelled my service part-way through the month.  My account shows a credit, but I don't know how to get that money refunded to me.

A credit balance is going to be refunded until sometime after another full bill cycle goes by. So in other words if your last bill cycle ended and you had overpaid, they send out a bill that has a credit balance. If the next month it's still has a credit balance they will process a refund by prepaid debit card.

If your postpaid account shows a credit balance, AT&T should refund that balance via debit card.  However, AT&T doesn't normally provide prorated credits for partially used billing cycles.

To add to what @formerlyknownas said, it takes 10-12 weeks after canceling to get a refund.
