Help I’m on someone else’s account and want off

I’m on a family members account from when I was living with them and want my number to be removed from it but they refuse to remove me what do I do?

Hi @Lexirene, we understand the importance of having your own account.

What @formerlyknownas said about requiring the account owner's permission is correct. You can request a transfer of billing responsibility which would transfer ownership and billing of the line over to you, however the owner will have to agree to the request on their end as well.

Please let us know if you have any other questions, and thanks for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums.

Unfortunately you cannot remove your phone number without their permission. They essentially own the number and the phone, even if you paid for it. You're going to have to work it out with them or walk away from both the phone and the number
