Heads up...AT&T no longer modifies payment arrangements

I have been with AT&T for over 11 years.

I made a payment arrangement online & got my dates/days mixed up. I needed my arrangement extended from 12/10/2015 to 12/11/2015.....ONE day. I was told my two different reps & one supervisor that this was not possible because there have been changes to AT&T's policy. When I asked why customers were not notified about changes that directly affect them, the answer I received was that it was a system change and they're telling people as they call in. How sneaky! ONE day...seriously?! AT&T is willing to trade 11+ years for ONE day. Well, I am going to be trading 11+ years for a new wireless carrier.

So FYI to anyone wanting or needing to extend/modify a payment arrangement.....YOU CAN'T.

For a company with millions upon millions of customers sending out notifications of changes in terms and policies sometimes isn't feasable. However changes are posted on the website and for payment arrangements the changes are laid out via the self service options. Being able to pay late and secure service is a luxury not too many companies allow. I understand it's frustrating not having the option to adjust an established arrangement but this is how the system is from now on.

Called to move arrangement out until Wednesday the 20th. Due tomorrow. ..date has been changed for me before ....always meet my payment agreement...is there anything that can be done to help me? I see nothing in the terms about not being able to change the date.

So then why does the app give you the option to modify if you cant? It's says you can modify..go to change it and it denies it. If you change a policy update your app too!

What was most likely encountered is not that arrangements couldn't be modified but that there were no more dates in which to extend the payment. There is a difference.

For a company that sends spam & advertising emails everyday to millions of customers, sending out a policy change notification should not be an issue.
