Experian Boost does not recognize "Connect Tech" as a cell phone carrier, when you pay your bill with a credit card it no longer says AT&T
When you pay your AT&T bill now with a credit card instead of saying that the payment is for AT&T it says it is for "Connect Tech", that's ridiculous did you know that Experian boost does not recognize "Connect Tech" as a cell phone carrier? When you pay your AT&T bill with a credit card it should say that you paid AT&T not "Connect Tech"!! Whoever decided to use "Connect Tech" for AT&T customer credit card payment processing should be fired!! that's right they should lose their job. Customers who use Experian boost and who rely on the AT&T cell phone history payment history to prove and show that they pay their bills are now getting screwed by AT&T! Some (Edited per community guidelines) working for AT&T decided to switch to some credit card processing company called "connectech", and yes this includes if you call in and use the automated system it's integrated into AT&T corporate. Customers who formerly enjoyed credibility with Experian boost utilizing their AT&T cell phone payment history BE WARNED, Experian boost is going to drop that history like a bad habit and drop your credit score once they see "connect tech" on your credit card payment, instead of it saying AT&T like it use to in the past!!

You should contact the credit card company and let them know that they don't have ConnectTech coded to be show as a cell phone bill. That's who would need to make the update.
I'm not sure why some customer's AT&T payment are through ConnectTech now, but it's not AT&T's job to worry about how credit card companies or Experian classify that payment.

It is absolutely AT&T responsibility to show their name on a bill when you pay it! Don't be a fooled, obviously I have already worked with Experian boost regarding this and they agree completely it is AT&T s responsibility! Do some due diligence do your homework!

Yeah its a 3rd party processor so what is the big deal? Its coded wrong well I am sorry that is on the CC you used and Experian. It is Experians problem because they promote their own product. Experian does business as something else also.

There is no truth. Tons of big companies use 3rd party processing.

Att is a publicly traded company anyone can look at SEC filing and figure out what is going on.
You are just a mad customer and your entitled to that.

You are entitled to your opinion as well as far as a mad customer that's subjective. I am well aware that they are a publicly traded company how much of their stock do you own?

Connect Tech isn't technically a 3rd party, it's another service offered by AT&T. I think it's really strange that it's showing up as the payee for cell phone bills.
Regardless, assigning the merchant category is definitely the responsibility of the credit card company. If you want Connect Tech's code changed, talk to them.

If you don't utilize Experian boost how in any way, shape or form would this be relevant to your concerns? 🤔😊

Perhaps a real conversation with AT&T and Experian boost would be more appropriate and more importantly a more accurate representation of realtime. Wikipedia is not necessarily the end-all-be-all of any situation and not necessarily accurate regarding actual real time circumstances. 😎

One may ask would it be easier for AT&T to simply request of connect Tech to add "AT&T - Connect Tech" to their customers receipt? Or would it be easier to convince Experian that connect Tech was really "AT&T"?
Neither Corporation really cares about anyone as an individual.

I can't find anything official, but I'm pretty sure Experian uses the MCC to categorize payments. The MCC is assigned by the credit card company. The Wikipedia entry gives a high-level overview confirming that.
AT&T is not involved.
Edit: We were posting at the same time.
This wouldn't make a difference, as the MCC wouldn't change. The system isn't looking for AT&T, unless Experian is using a really wacky system.
