Estimated Sales Tax

I am looking at signing up for ATT and have selected the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G for $30 billed at $1 per month (retail $499), and then I see $45 for Estimated Sales Tax. This seems high if I am only paying $30 for the phone. I have never paid sales tax on anything more than the purchase price so I am confused on how my EST comes to $45. Thank you for any explanation!

You are paying tax on the 499.  And paying full price for the phone with a next loan. Att then credits you over 30 months.

Thank you very much. Sneaky slight of hand but $45 plus $30 is still an amazing deal for a $499 phone. Appreciate your explanation. Now i just hope i can finish checkout before BFD end... by any chance do you know what time the sale ends? Just in case of any last minute snags, would be nice if i wasn't under a looming deadline, lol.
