Enhanced Recovery - Fraudulent Collections by AT&T

After many, many years of being with AT&T I've just received a credit report alert that a new collections file has been opened.  There is absolutely NO merit to this.  After reading countless posts in here about this crooked collections company and this rogue claim of $102, I'm encouraging everyone to check their credit reports.  ALSO, AT&T REPS, PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS.  I'M ANTICIPATING A REPLY TO MY POST WITH CONTACT INFORMATION SO THAT I CAN SEND YOU SPECIFICS SO THAT YOU CAN HELP TO FIGHT THESE CROOKED COLLECTORS AND HAVE THIS REMOVED.  My beautiful credit score has been dropped 21 points by this new activity!!

You will get no official reply from AT&T from your post here. This is a customer helping customer forum.

At best, you will get a rep to request a private message.

For assistance, send a private message to @ATTMobilityCare with your contact and account information and someone will get in touch with you.

Since the claim is, as you say, fraudulent, ATT can't help and would have no record of this.

Send a cease and desist to the collector and insist on proof of the debt. When they can't do so, you can have the debt removed as an error on your credit report.

I found an online site with recommendations on how to handle debt collectors. Google it for more suggestions.

You should check all 3 reporting agencies for errors of any kind.

ERC contacted me about a bill for AT&T from 2012 that I didn't open, so they sent me fraud forms to fill out requesting information on my former addresses and social security  number, I don't fill comfortable sending this personal information, what else can I do to prove this is a fraudulent account?

You can't. If you won't provide the info required to dispute the item, you'll have to pay it or leave it on your credit report.

Although, if it is already on your credit report, you can dispute with the credit bureau and they will make ERC prove the debt is legit.

I was trying to get this resolved before filing the court case. But I cannot get anyone from corporate. I called 7 times in 1 day. But the answer I get is that even though this was an ATT issue they cannot get this removed from my credit report. Prince (Edited per community guidelines) said they will update it as paid but not remove it.. What kind of crap is that. Why cannot ATT make Prince Parker remove it since they hired them? That seems a little scary to me! I see a (Edited per community guidelines) (Edited per community guidelines) over this
