Why am I being charged for data usage almost every day at the rate of $.01? I did add $5.00 charge to cover 50mb of data to my account, yet that is not being accessed?

We'd be happy to help with your data usage.
To begin, let us know which plan you are currently using so we can investigate.
Are you able to single out exactly where the data charges are coming from?
We look forward to hearing back from you.

I am on the prepaid plan ($1.00 a day, etc.), and I have no idea where it is coming from. See below

Thanks for giving us some information in regards to your data usage on your prepaid account. We'd like to know what prepaid plan that you're on?

As I said, the $1.00 a day when used plus .10 a minute for voice calls, and .20 to .25 for each text. I usually prepay each year for $100.00.
Thank you for updating us on your $1 per minute plan @hrlamke.
The $0.01 charge got through based off of data add-on not being eligible to cover this outreach.
Based off where the number came through from our system would determine if the call or message was domestic or international, then charge based off this.
If you are receiving multiples outreaches from this line, we recommend blocking with your devices default blocking features within the contact app.
You may also forward texts to 7726(SPAM). These forwarded messages are free for AT&T customers and won't count toward texting limits.
Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Since the "calling number" is mine would it be OK to block mine? I have actually placed zero calls outwards so it is all a mystery that started when I switched to a "smart" phone.

🤦♀️ Oh for gosh sake‘s.
despite you having a basic flip phone, it is still capable of at least a small amount of data usage which you are being charged for. If your phone does not have an option somewhere in settings to turn off data access, you will have to call AT&T and ask them to turn data off on your line..

Thank you for reaching out.
Smartphones always make use of data in the background to update applications and their general functionality. One way to reduce that is to put the phone on airplane mode (if applicable) when not in use.
Let us know if this helps.

🤦♀️. She has a flip phone. The 1¢ charges dont happen on smartphones. @hrlamke call 611 (free call) and ask for data to be shut off on your line.
How can we improve?
