Charged $272 for international call

I always make an international call through KakaoTalk(free call). However, for some reason, an international call charged $272 from ATT. I couldn't pay this much money. Is there a way I can get a waive for this amount?

This is a customer populated Community Forum not AT&T customer support.

If the call went through AT&T cellular it's a valid charge.   If you've already been billed it is highly unlikely AT&T will be willing to re-rate the charges. 

    Using "free" applications requires both parties be using the application and wifi.  If it anytime a call revert to Cellular, you are then using cellular long distance and will be charged.  

Best way to prevent this from happening is do not use devices with a SIM card installed.
