Cancelling autopay by credit card mobile plan

Hey all, since the forums always know way more than customer service seems to (or at least you are more honest) I am consulting you all with this question because of course trying to navigate what the AT&T site says is not making any sense to me.

After months with AT&T making my life a living (Edited per community guidelines) I want to go back to T-Mobile. I wish I would have done it sooner but I was awaiting my rebate (that of course never came, should have listened to you alls warnings.) I would like to Port my number over to T-Mobile. I've already spoken to them and figured out what plan I want and everything. But, I'm struggling to figure out which day I would do that without incurring fees for the next month with AT&T.

I did not buy a phone from them I brought my own phone, so I don't owe them anything in that realm. I have auto pay set up and I pay auto pay with my credit card, which I think is charged on a different day than bank transfers. When I look at my last bill it says activity up until May 27th auto pay activated on June 3rd. Does that mean that if I Port my number over before June 27th that I will not be charged for the next month? Or do I need to do it sooner than that?

Thanks ahead for your help!

It would be best to port out a few days to a week before your plan renews. If it renews, you pay for the entire month.

Since you're on a postpaid plan oh, you want to know what your bill cycle is which maybe the 3rd of the month to the 2nd of the following month and just Port your number out. Porting your number out closes your account and terminates your service with AT&T.

You will be charged for your last full month service, that's all.   No need to shut off auto pay.

If your time your exit correctly you will have already paid for service for your final months oh, and there would be no further charges anyway

Yes. As long as your port is completed on or before June 26, you will not be charged for another month of service.

We hate to see you go, @!

When it comes to cancelling AutoPay in order to avoid additional charges when porting your phone number back to your previous carrier we want to advise that you transfer your port number prior to the start of your next billing cycle. (7 days prior to the start of your billing cycle if your AutoPay is set up on your credit card.)

Also, we want to know more about the experience that caused you to return to your previous carrier so that we may try to turn this around for you.

Looking forward to your reply!
