Cancelled a wireless order and still no refund

I placed an order for wireless service and it was $238 for the taxes and such which was deducted from my bank immediately.  An hour later I cancelled the order and I received a message saying the Order was cancelled and I wasn’t charged but I definitely was charged and now it’s been 2 days and my money still isn’t returned.  I’m furious, nobody will help, I get bounced around customer service and told different things every time. I just want my money back!! Is this typical practice to hold people’s money because they cancell an order?

Hi @Ak122800

Thanks for the post.

When you place your order online using a debit/credit card a hold transaction is authorized. When you cancel your order, it may take 3 business days for the hold to release back to your bank.

If you placed your order 2 days ago, Friday Feb 1, 2019, you may see the funds released by your bank as soon as Wednesday Feb 6, 2019.

I canceled my att account the same day I ordered because I made the mistake of thinking I was ordering or transferring my Comcast account. Anyway, the modem was still shipped and left on my door step and I haven't gotten a refund on deposit. How do I return the modem and why was it still sent?
