BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH AT&T

AT&T is NO better than the scammers from India who call & scam people out of their money! They just stole from my children and I. Silly me for forgetting to turn off auto pay when I switched carriers. They billed me for an entire month of service. I used THREE DAYS of that month. They still took the entire month out of my bank account. Now they're telling me that they won't refund me for the 27 days that weren't used. They are the ONLY carrier that will do this! Verizon will prorate you for services unused. AT&T? Yeah, they just believe in stealing from you! I will make sure that I reach out to everyone I know to make this AS BIG as possible! Funny how I'm in a community that has a direct connection to President Donald Trump! I WILL out AT&T as the biggest scam in this country! You stole from the wrong person!

Hey @angrygpatron, thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums. We understand the inconvenience you are facing, and we are here to help you.

If you are a new customer to AT&T, please let us know we will help you with the refund. If you have cancelled the services within 14 days, but you will be charged for the calls you made. Only service charges will be refunded.

If you're an existing customer in AT&T as Per terms of service: The final month's charges are not prorated.

You will not receive prorated credits for mid-cycle cancellations.

AT&T's default is to make cancellations effective the last day of the bill cycle, and you will be charged through end of the bill cycle.

AT&T does not pro-rate your monthly billing if you cancel mid-month. It is stated in the service agreement. You will still be charged for the remaining month until your next billing period starts (or is supposed to start).

Hope this information helps!

Reach out to us, if you have any more questions.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community & Forums,

Scarlett, AT&T Community Specialist.

Not surprised. They scam everyone out of their money. If you were to cancel, you wouldn't get a refund for services unused either. They steal & they don't return. They're scammers.

Every Carrier does this! You just failed to read the TOS you agreed to. Also, no need to spam other threads. And you might want to read the forum rules while you’re at it. Stop spreading false information. No one stole from your children 😂

Not true. Verizon gave me a prorated credit AUTOMATICALLY. Verizon doesn’t steal. T Mobile also gives prorated credits. They don’t steal. AT&T steals.

Yes they do @Lockdowncraziness  I’ve had many automatic credits with other carriers.

@Lockdowncraziness ill go to as many threads as I want to 🤷🏼‍♀️ you can’t tell me that I don’t get automatic credits from other carriers. A bill that was created BEFORE I cancelled service ISN’T a final bill. That’s a NORMAL bill. The final bill should have been after I cancelled my services, showing a credit for services not used

@formerlyknownas  I know you have a wonderful screenshot of other Carriers TOS somewhere regarding this matter.

As a current and past Verizon customer, they have the exact same policy as ATT and T-Mobile.

Drama much?!?

Silly me for forgetting to turn off auto pay when I switched carriers.

They would have billed you even if you'd turned off autopay.  If you hadn't paid it, they'd send you to collections.

They are the ONLY carrier that will do this! Verizon will prorate you for services unused.

That's incorrect, the 3 big carriers, and I'm sure some others also don't prorate.  As someone else posted, Verizon does not.

You stole from the wrong person!

You're only the wrong person, in that you're wrong...

How do you report comments?  This political stuff doesn’t belong here.
