  • Hello,
There appears to be a misunderstanding here.
I returned all phones, and I never activated my account.
I am not understanding why I am being billed. What more if anything was I to do after returning all phones to AT&T?
I have stated this to AT&T representatives who have called me requesting payment. I have also mailed a written response to AT&T requesting that I not be billed for services I never activated or received.
I believe this matter should have been resolved.  What exactly is AT&T billing me for? How did I incur this bill? Is this bill something that I consented to or is it the way AT&T treat persons who cancel service within the 30 day cancellation period?
Please provide some clarity and evidence showing I failed to cancel within the cancellation period.

You have 14 days to return the equipment not 30. You are also responsible for specific charges under this policy. Read the TOS you agreed to.

Returning phones does not cancel service.

Calling AT&T to cancel service or porting phone numbers back to your original carrier would.  I will assume that port into AT&T was probably not complete but you still would have had temporary numbers assigned.

At least it looks like they must have received phones so you aren't being charged $1,000 for some phone that they didn't get back.

As noted, the return period is 14 days, not 30.  You’ll need to call them to get an exact accounting of what is being billed.  You would be responsible for the service you used before you cancelled, possibly an activation fee, and a restocking fee, unless you returned the phone unopened.  How long ago did you cancel and return the devices?  It seems unlikely you wouldn’t have gotten a bill from AT&T before this.  If you didn’t pay it or ignored it, there are probably late fees included in the final amount too.

What happened by any chance because I received a similar email and letter in the mail and mine balance is true but they are giving me a waived amount that I could pay to settle the debt. Now that I paid the debt, AT&T is stating that they can't see the letter in their system. HOORRIBLE service in my opion

Well don't lose the letter. And when someone from AT&T contacts you ask them if you can send them a copy

Now that I paid the debt, AT&T is stating that they can't see the letter in their system

Why does AT&T need to see the letter? Are they still requesting you pay the remaining $177 ?

If you paid the $755, you shouldn't need to speak with AT&T ever again.
