Being Billed After Cancelling Service!!

Hi, I cancelled my phone number and have received two bills since. I’ve spoken to five AT&T representatives who confirmed the account is cancelled. Why am I still receiving new bills from the company? I have left the country and this is causing me severe mental trauma. Please stop billing me unnecessarily.

1.   How did you cancel?  Postpaid must call.

2.   Canceling during your bill cycle will mean one more bill.  Final bill is not prorated.

3.   Prepaid has no bill.  If you were a prepaid user, canceling prepaid is self managed By turning off autopay.

This forum is not customer support. No one here can see the bills to answer.

I cancelled my service in mid October. I don't feel I owe this bill. I was told when I talked to A T T on the phone that I would owe a $40 fee because they said I cancelled efore my contract was up. It was hooked up in mid October 2018 I had just closed on my house on the 10th of October 2018.

@pperks16 This forum is not customer support. No one here can see what you were billed for but ATT does not prorate your final month of service. Once your billing month starts, you are billed for the full month whether you use the service or not.

@pperks16

since you said you were charged a $40 early termination fee I suspect your service was not cellular, but home Internet and or TV service which charges a $20 per month early termination fee.   This is the cell phone forum.

There are a couple of things to note; service for final month is not prorated;  ‘mid month’ is not an accurate date.  If you begin your service on October 15 of 2018, and canceled your service are any day before October 14 of 2020 you have not completed two full years of service.  AT&T counts every day;

if you changed your service at any time or receive new equipment that would have extended your contract. (Underhanded, but it’s in writing)

@debbyreed98  wrong forum. This is cell service.  Repost in 'Internet'.   And because this is a customer populated for him you're going to have to provide a little more information than that for contact AT&T directly.
