AUTO-Pay Verbiage

So when selecting auto pay: “new debit/credit card” the verbiage AT&T uses is confusing. So my bill is due at the end of the month...actually it’s due on the 26th...but when selecting auto pay, the verbiage states “we will bill your credit card 8 days after the 26th of the month.”... so is this after my bill due date? So, will I incur a late fee? Why wouldn’t you just charge whatever is on file the day it’s due?

Not only does this not make much sense...it sounds like ATT is trying to impose fees onto its customers...

Are you sure that’s what it says?  Not like in the photo?

If your bill cycle ends on the 26, being paid on the 8th might make sense.   But not if it’s due the 26th

Read your bill.  It would be more likely your bill cycle ends the 26th, not the due date.

We cannot see your bill.

Hi @lizdance40 I’m absolutely certain my bill is DUE on the 24th, it says so right on the bill... My apologies. But 8 days after the 26th would make the bill late...honestly, it’s not even worth it anymore. Lol. Thanks for you help.

@DaLouieV If you autopay with a credit card, your payment will be taken 8 days after the start of your bill cycle. Your due date is 21 days after the start of your bill cycle. In other words, autopaying with a credit card should pay the bill 13 days before the due date. Since we don’t know your bill cycle dates, perhaps the date listed is wrong. In any event, autopay will not cause payment to be late.

Rightly confused.

Geesh.  24th, 26th, or 8 days after the 26th.

The key is the bill cycle.

Mine ends the 17th.  Due around the 8th of the following month. Auto pay would take it on the 6th.  Auto pay with credit card takes it the 24th.

Your screen shot looks like you don’t have auto pay set up.
