AT&T Unethical Behavior by adding Next Up Add-on without consent

We’ve been AT&T customers for a very long time now and not once have I thought this company has unethical behaviors with customers. Yea, from time to time mistakes can happen but we’ve just upgraded 2 of our 4 lines and all of the sudden all 4 lines had automatics add-on charges occurring for the Next Up program. This was added without our consent and I find this type of business behavior very disturbing for any customer. Very unethical in my opinion!

Unfortunately some AT&T reps trying to pad their sales numbers by doing shady stuff like that. However, it is easy to fix. Just call CS and have it removed. They will also credit you for whatever unauthorized addons were put on your account. Happened to me few times and while annoying, it is easy fix.

I happen to agree with you about it being unethical but some believe it’s not since Next Up can be removed later but it can’t be added later.

While it is true that Next Up can not be added later, reps should not be taking it upon themselves to add anything. They should explain to customers about their options and let customers decide.

Hello Baskerfamily, we're here to help with removing the AT&T Next-up Add on.

This is not the customer experience we like to hear. Let's meet in a Direct Message we would like to submit feedback so that we can work on our area of opportunity. We will remove the feature off your account. Please check your Direct Message inbox (it's the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums).

Looking forward to speaking with you.

I purchased new devices for 6 lines in December. Everything is on auto pay and bill has been out of sync. I have noticed I was being charged extra fees and upon looking, it was NextUp. I have NEVER asked for NextUp or similar program in 19 years. This was decieftul, malicious and down right fraud on ATTs behalf. Please contact me to resolve as Manager Diego could not.

ATT can credit 6 months in arrears.  If they won't, just let them know it's in the customer service agreement
